Those working in interventional pain management face unique challenges, as they strive to diagnose and treat the source painful conditions. Whether it’s through precise diagnostic procedures or innovative treatments and personalized care plans, these healthcare professionals play a critical role.

Eligibility
Education Level: 3rd or 4th year Resident or Fellow.
Areas of Interest: Fields related to pain management, such as anesthesiology, physical medicine, rehabilitation, or neurology
Award: $5,000 each, plus the cost of attending NANS Conference in Orlando, up to three awards annually
The awardees receive a monetary grant, NANS general meeting registration, hotel accommodations, and travel stipend.
This award aims to support those who exhibit the following qualities:
- Ethical: Always putting patient care at the forefront
- Humble: Treat others respectfully; seek mutual understanding then execute together
- Hungry: Desires to advance their knowledge of interventional pain – particularly neuromodulation, minimally invasive procedures, and other modalities led by a passion for patient care
- Smart: Brings new ideas and processes supported by questions, data, and experience advancing their knowledge and that of their peers
Any physician who is a fellow or 3rd-4th year resident focusing on fields related to pain management, such as anesthesiology, physical medicine, rehabilitation, or neurology, may apply for this award opportunity.
To apply, upload a recommendation letter from your fellowship director or residency director along with a video response to “Why am I interested in interventional pain?”. The recommendation letter should highlight why your director believes you have demonstrated the qualities listed above.
